February 1, 2018: Monthly Weight Update
Good morning! I am so happy to be home and posting a new monthly update on my weight loss. I've had a loooong week, out of town for medical appointments for three days, and it's always so good to get home. I usually gain a bit on trips like this (all the sitting, less water, and eating out) so I wasn't sure what to expect this morning on the scale. I weigh 208 pounds, same as the day we left! I'm happy about that and even more pleased with the total of 9 pounds gone in January. That's the most I've lost in one month since my first month on phentermine! I must be doing something right. I still post most of my meals on Instagram (lynescapes).
This week, after the wake-up call of my newest update pictures, I made a point to start increasing my intentional exercise. I walked the dogs a bit more often and went swimming for a half hour each night we stayed in a hotel. This week I'll start biking. I hope that will give me a better result (and better health) for the next update pictures when I get ten more pounds off. I also went shopping for a new bra! It was on my mind, but getting it done this week was unintentional. I've never shopped at Victoria's Secret in my LIFE (not confident enough) but my daughter wanted to look at some things in PINK, so we went in. While I was just hanging out by the dressing room waiting for her, a salesperson came up and said "have you been fitted for a bra lately?" I had to laugh... is it THAT obvious?? So I said no, but I plan on it soon. She was so cheery and whipped out her measuring tape and said "oh, I can do it for you now!" And just like that, I was in a dressing room with several types of bras to try on. I was shocked when she proclaimed me a 38DD. I thought, that can't be right... I think I am in a C cup. I can't remember ever wearing a DD! But when I tried on those bras, once I got everything stuffed into that cup, she was right. The DD fit perfectly. And wow, it was so soft and comfortable and made a HUGE difference in how I look! So I bought two of them on sale (really great deals at $20 each!) and went home with the nicest, best fitting bras I have ever owned. I know I will have to get fitted again as my weight goes down, but you can bet I will do it... either at VS or at Nordstrom.
Well, enough with the bra talk. My goal for March 1 is to get under 200 pounds, and it's going to take some work to lose another 9 pounds this month, but I am up for the challenge.
