Happiness is a mental state that is indefinite by the fact that it is fleeting emotion. When we feel it, we attempt to hold on to it and tend to feel worse once it inevitably ends. That is why it may be time to examine what happiness essentially is and how one can actually cultivate it in order to experience it more often.
