Several months ago she relocated from Chico and brings her 18 years of experience helping individuals and couples with problems that include relationships, co-dependency, anxiety, depression and more. BANK STOCKHOLDERS’ DIVIDEND

The Board of Directors of Plumas Bancorp, the parent company of Plumas Bank, declared a regular semi-annual cash dividend on Plumas Bancorp common stock of 14 cents per share, which will be paid Nov. 15 to stockholders of record as of Nov. 1, 2017.

A story elsewhere in this week’s paper covers the bank’s recently released financial results for the quarter ending Sept. 30 along with the earnings for the bank’s first nine months of 2017. Director, President and Chief Executive Officer Andrew Ryback commented, “We are pleased to announce a 14 cent per share semi-annual cash dividend to our shareholders. This is a direct result of the continued success and focus of this organization; all the while, we have retained sufficient capital levels to be recognized as a super premier performing, well capitalized financial institution by The Findley Reports.”

CUSTOMER APPRECIATION DAY

This Saturday, Oct. 28, both Quincy Natural Foods Co-op and Feather River Food Co-op in Portola are hosting a Customer Appreciation Day from noon to 4 p.m. In addition to meeting and chatting with the Co-op’s board of directors, other events include active food demonstrations, plenty of product sampling, pumpkin painting, prize giveaways and more.

COMPASSION AND KINDNESS CLASSES

Anne Gaudet will be conducting Loving-Kindness workshops on Saturday, Oct 28, Nov. 4 and Nov. 11, from 10 a.m. to noon, at the Yoga & Wellness Center located next to the Paradise Grill in the Plumas Pines Shopping Center in Quincy. Anne says

her connection to herself and others “… has deepened with the practices of compassion, empathy and kindness — they all weave together in a heartfelt energy of love so I am offering these workshops focused on those three skills.” She said these are donation-based workshops so participants can pay what they can with the proceeds donated to the Wellness Center.

CANDY DONATIONS SOUGHT

Once again, the Quincy Chamber of Commerce is seeking donations for the annual merchant’s Safe Trick-Or-Treat held on Halloween. Residents are asked to help defray some of the cost of this event by donating candy for the Safe Trick-Or-Treat in the clearly marked barrels located inside Plumas Bank, Safeway and Sav Mor Foods. The Quincy Chamber will gather the donated candy and distribute it amongst its participating Chamber members just prior to Oct. 31.

SPEAKING OF SAFE TRICK-OR-TREAT

Chester’s annual Safe Trick-Or-Treat on Halloween features a costume contest for the little ghosts and goblins. Several employees representing the Seneca Health Care District will have a booth next to U.S. Bank in downtown Chester from 3 to 5 p.m., where they will judge and pick the best costumes in five different categories and award some really nice prizes for each.

DESPITE WORK, UNOCAL REMAINS OPEN

The new underground fuel tanks were installed at the Unocal 76 Service Station and Food Mart last Friday. Although gas will not be available for another four to six weeks, customers will continue to find the mini mart and food court open for business. So don’t let the fencing fool you; they are open daily with their usual hours and ready for business!
